and they even don't know if the game survives eventually)
players won't come to this game , why would they? the devs release EA with zero content lol
I think Steam needs a new criteria of games can only be released in EA if it contains X amount of content for the genre that its in
Do you people have any clue in the world how stupidly time consuming it is to make a game like this? I bet just the artist alone has a minimum of 1,000 labor hours to finish all the content that would be required to flesh out a new location. 40 hours a week. You do the math.
just tell me 1 thing
who would release MMORPG in EA without fun endgame content???
there are 4 acts and for what?
I'll tell you what they've really needed to make - Closed Beta Test just for 1 week or 2. And they could've gathered feedback without risks.
You won't get a second chance to make a first good impression!
But no, they needed EA where people try the game and just leave cause there is nothing to do and combat is not fun and grinding is not fun at the moment.
And the devs spend huuuuge amount of time just to tune some minor QoL things. And still there is plenty of QoL problems that they need to address even now. But all of this they could've avoided for sure. Just CBTs or beta weekends
You guys just don't understand that now we are living almost in 2025, not 2005 where we didn't have many pc/mobile/console games. People have huge amount of games right now and OSRS to boot
I'm still following a vague plan of getting 500 Miner, Stonemason, Blacksmith and Bonewright in that order (probably grabbing 500 Minefighter after just to complete the "set") mostly so I can outfit my friends if they ever decide to play the game again.
If this game does end up suffering a mortal blow and withering away that amount of time and effort will certainly suck to have wasted, but hopefully everything pans out. Got no reason to think the game is dead or dying yet, the devs seem motivated at least.
The game might languish in a rough state for a few years before sudden some major update reinvigorates the game, some journalists and streamers report on it, suddenly interest explodes again and the game gets life breathed into it again or something. I saw that with Project Zomboid once.
Just hoping for some more Gower magic. They're older now, more IRL obligations plus less energy, but I hope one day we'll see a content year for this game like RS 2006 got.
