Unless you are the CEO of the Union for Click-to-move-everywhere Gamers, you talk only for yourself.
What department do you work in? Your whole department is fired.
edit: @Remie feel free to join the Make Singular Entities Great Again movement.
I can't think of any other mmos that allow you to move as far as you want by just clicking on the map, but for some reason, it feels like being able to do that would suit this game. At least to me it does.
Actually, now that I think about it more, other mmos do let you travel long distances via fast travel to specific points in a map, like the waypoints in Guild Wars 2.
This game lets you do the same thing.... theyre called teleports, and we have lots of them. 6 in fact with only 4 areas.
Have you never considered why no other MMO lets you click an infinite distance to auto run? It's because theyve spent thousands of hours designing this whole game world for us to enjoy. Every single object is hand drawn in this game and you want to be able to click on the map, tab out and afk past all of it, only tabbing in when you get to your spot. Completely ignoring the entire design of the game. It would be a horrible change.
people like the original poster and you will kill this game. You want to be able to click a location and completely tab out and afk, before tabbing back in, clicking another 9 objects then completely tabbing out and afking again, before tabbing back in to click the bank 24 tiles away so you can afk again. You want to dumb down the game and simplify it so much that it becomes an idle game you barely have to engage with.
Go away and go download Idle Heroes on Mobile or something.
People just want the dopamine hits without actually doing any work to get it.
I'm pretty sure they did an experiment that was something like that with a bunch of mice... it didn't turn out so well...
Jokes on you. I'm extremely dumb!
The game is literally already this, except there's not enough time between clicks to actually tab out.
How did clicking several times between here and your destination make you enjoy the world more?
That's not exactly the same thing. The waypoints in GW2 are numerous all over a single map. Here there are just one or two on a map. I just don't see the reasoning and purpose behind the distance restriction for this game.
I think Brighter Shores should focus on being an "afk" or "second screen" game. In fact, this is what Andrew himself said in an interview about Brighter Shores.
"I have designed this to be a second screen game, because I've realised that's what people want from my games"
—Andrew Gower

I think removing the restriction, if there is not a technical reason for it, would support this vision. I think its the niche this game should focus on because there aren't many other mmos that do.
Because I actually have to watch the screen? Simple answer really lol
Do you derive enjoyment from watching the screen, or from being forced to do something?
But you would still be able watch the screen.
