I'd say it's worth trying it out, sure. Player count has dropped, for a variety of reasons I am sure people will be happy to talk about, but it has also remained fairly stable recently at like 2000 or so, so it's not like it has just completely flatlined. I think when there's more to do, more reasons to invest your time etc, the game will pick up.
It’s a small download though and the first two episodes are free. There’s nothing in the paid content that you aren’t going to be able to experience (in a similar fashion) from the free content. Give it a try!
There are a lot of people that complain about grinding, but they don't seem to realize that grinding is INTENTIONALLY the majority of the content and will ALWAYS be so, very much like RuneScape itself. Yes there are some quests and I love questing, but it took RuneScape 22 (23 next month) years to get the number of quests it has currently and the rate at which Jagex release new quests is abysmally slow and has been for many years. Hopefully new quests come out faster in Brighter Shores, but only time will tell. If you don't like grinding, you won't like this game. If you like seeing numbers go up and some animations to go with it, you will like this game. This is not a game that requires skill to play. Now if you'll excuse me, I have some clicking to do in Brighter Shores.
No its not, stop the copium please its cringe.
In terms of the player count yeah its fallen off from its peak mainly because once you finish everything in the main story through Crenopolis there isn't much to do other than make number go up. Once Episode 5 comes out you will probably see a massive spike in players again.
I am indeed looking for a substitute similar to RS3 because I don’t have friends to play with and find it difficult to participate in late-game boss fights. As for OSRS, it’s just a matter of the graphics.
As for grinding for the sake of grinding, yes indeed. That is the appeal of the game, just like RuneScape.
Except you still get the same amount of experience for cutting said tree that you got at level 1, it's just that you need way more xp to level up. this system is also in brighter shores (each level takes more xp to level than the last) except you can't grind a lower xp method as they nerf the xp you get as well..
The nerf there is actually an anti-bot mechanic that has been used (albeit, outdated and still useless) in games for 1-2 decades now. It's main purpose is really to just deter people away from botting low levels on a constant non-stop run for the easiest XP.
Well this "outdated and still useless" mechanic just cost them a paying customer.
