EXPERIENCE would be FOMO.
GOLD would be FOMO.
So like, is gold fomo now? There's a "FEAR OF MISSING OUT" from playing earlier and earning more gold, is that what you're saying?
Yes = Okay in-game currency = fomo you're right *eyeroll*
No = Exactly, play early get more gold for playing sooner. No different than special items now again stfu and admit there is no fomo (of this deal) cuz there is no deal just play the game.
Should players that have played for 5 minutes have the same benefits of players that have played for years?
EDIT: Also yes if we're allowed to actually trade them. They can get one if they pay for it ;) If don't want them tradeable then no, they shoulda played and got the untradeable holiday items when it was around. Why should scrubs that don't support the game be able to act like they supported the game from the start?
Now you're just devaluing MY time effort and (potentially) money.
Nah I'm good, ♥♥♥♥ that ♥♥♥♥ they weren't here from the start. If they want to pretend to then they need to grind their asses off and pay me for it otherwise nah, I'll keep my dozen entire sets of holiday items for myself whilst collecting all other items myself in the future.
Look at OSRS. It has none of this. The only thing it has even remotely similar to this are the Leagues trophies, and there's a new Leagues every year, so every year all players have an equal opportunity to earn whatever tier of trophy they want.
Imagine getting 500 in a skill and then 5 minutes after creating an account you get 500 in said skill a year or two later.
Yeah no sorry not sorry it does suck to suck I reckon. Let them suck for a couple of weeks and cringe from not being here through all the EA BS and only coming when the game was good and easy.
You better hope it stays as low effort as this Christmas event is. Better hope it doesn't escalate into them wanting you to grind the game super hard for something that's limited time, over fear of. y'know. missing out
I'll trade your OG hat for your scrub hat if you buy my lvl 1 logs for 1g each. Want my hat? Buy the logs first, you want the hat more than I need the gold cuz *gasp* I've been playing longer and already have plenty of gold.
Yes, plenty will et scammed, that's why they should either be tradeable directly for gold (why else would we have dupes?) or completely untradeable in which case even more reason to keep them that way. Why should a 5 min player be able to have access to items the same as a several years long player?
I don't sign into OSRS and go "aw. I missed a bunch of ♥♥♥♥"
We draw the line at keeping them unobtainable after the event like they are; tradeable for those that want them like people want, and then go about our day like I said.
Yes, 5 minute never-again things are fine when they're like a month long. If you can't/won't log in for 5 minutes out of 43,200 (1 month) then no, you don't deserve it. Even better how it is now when you can obtain unlimited multiples to trade to future players that want them so that *gasp* they cannnnn actually obtain them..?
I don't hope for anything, the game will be what the game will be. If I miss out on an event then well ♥♥♥♥, it's my fault for not logging in for 5 minutes to get my own item ain't it?
OSRS sucks, it's mostly bots with absolutely nothing to actually work towards and a sprinkle of PvP wannabes that either no/low risk or telly after spec failed. Only reason it has done well is because it's easy af and RS3 shields it from being heavily monetized.
Your goals are still there but if you wanna get fr, OSRS is EZscape compared to actual RS2. Lemme just play for 5 mins and get 10b to buy skills and gear...
Owait, lol I can!
Oof, sorry if this sounds rude but maybe you don't realize the game is in Early Access? The devs are acknowledging the game needs tweaks and improvements and are doing so due to feedback. Instead of having content that anyone can complete in 5 minutes in spite of wanting to take years (which failed already, devs underestimated current MMO players), they want you to actually play at least a couple of weeks/months and claim what is essentially *more* than just login bonuses and handing everything to new players for free because as we all know; that just burns players out? Whilst also rewarding initial supporters of said game for sticking around even if they're not actually supporting/paying to play? Doesn't that make you a zoomer for not wanting to play a game for longer than 5 minutes?
Fine with me, even on osrs/rs3/many other mmo's players do the same thing and have fun enjoying it. Especially when said items are yaknow, actually exclusive and not given out every single time which would "apparently" be the only reason you would log in. guess you'd have no reason to even log in anymore then would you?
