Please never do a profession like Chef ever again
For those who don't know what I mean, look at the XP/hr chart for Chef on the wiki. Every method that isn't just brainlessly running back and forth between Kevin is half, or worse, as effective as just doing the slop recipes. This is atrocious design and it really rears its ugly head at what high level chefs call "Bacon Mountain" where at 345 you have literally 93 levels you're just doing bacon sandwiches because it's the highest xp/hr that you can realistically do for that long. You unlock 5 active methods during that time and they're all completely unviable, and to make matters even worse unless you just so happen to have the right fisher level (or are willing to give up half of your fisher passive XP) the passives are completely useless as well due to the atrocious level gaps between fisher and chef, alongside some of the most unbalanced prices for passive resources I have ever seen. You could bankroll 500 alchemy for the price of a single night of passive chef.

The only recipe you unlock which is even remotely viable long-term is the Pufferfish Sashimi recipe which is one of the most grotesquely over-nerfed recipes I have ever seen in a game. Yes, it gives less than HALF the KP/action of slop soups, and a THIRD of the XP/hr of bacon sandwiches. I want to go out and collect rays and gurnards but I can't, because if I did I would be getting like a tenth of the XP I would get just using that time to spam out the braindead slop recipes.

And why on God's Green Earth is the profession which is supposed to be the sister profession for Fisher have only one viable method that involves Fisher; a slightly upgraded method for one that primarily uses Forager?! It makes no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sense.

The worst part is that when you do finally get 500 you're not going to be seen as someone who suffered through one of the worst designed professions in the game, you're going to get the prestige of a moron who is OK with turning their brain off for hours on end, because that's all 99.999% of maxed chefs did.

Chef is basically just a money making profession for F2P, and I'm okay with something like that existing.

But cooking is also one of the more interesting skills when it comes to recipes and possibilities. So, it's sad to see it turned into a grindy money maker for F2P with no use beyond money. Especially since it's more profitable to just kill things. Once I finally get around to doing the Hopeport quests that I abandoned forever ago, I doubt I'll ever touch cooking again, because why should I? It doesn't feed into anything else or have any use beyond EP 1.

Meanwhile, Alchemist is useful for every region. Weapon crafting is useful for every region. Leatherworker will feed Armorer, which will be useful for every region. Detective and Merchant at least give bonuses with shortcuts and discounts.
