What about a Brighter Shores Bonds?
Just wondering if Brighter Shores could have something as bonds to buy membership.
It's what Runescape/OSRS has currently, now i'm wondering would Andrew Gower implement something like this in Brighter Shores?

(For those who don't know what I mean by Bonds,it's like a alternative way to buy membership with in game gold or currency by which another player has purchased it with real money and then sell it for another player to use in game for member ship redeem.)

What's everyone's opinion about this?

Yeah bonds had the side effect of attacking gold to real money. I stopped feeling compelled to level things when I knew I could just shove $20 into the game and be set.

if that happens bots will flood the game

Bonds were a compromise with gold sellers as a form of harm-reduction.
I think their plan here is to just not allow gold selling in the first place.

This isn't even an MMO. Sure you see other players but there's no player interaction in a meaningful way

People will still buy gold once free trade comes into play. The whole point of bonds was to combat people who buy gold and allow people to safely buy gold if they want. Buying gold will always exist, unless andrew is 100% on top of it. If he is 100% on top of it, then yes, there is an argument to not make bonds in the game.

The only other downside of not having bonds is that people cannot pay for membership through gameplay. A lot of people on rs3 and osrs do this to not have to spend any irl money on the game.

Bonds might stop real-world trading, but they make the bot problem worse. If a botter has to pay $6 CAD per account per month, that puts a fundamental cap on how much they can break the economy. If they can buy membership with in-game gold, then they buy up all the bonds on their dozens of alts and make bonds unaffordable for the average player.
