I feel like your nostalgia is getting the best of you. You've played games for years, of course quests are "easy" to you so you try to look for any reason on why that might be the case, instead of the obvious of "I've done so many puzzles in my life".
Many aspects of OSRS are obsolete in 2024. I dare to say the entire game is a museum right now, although having a fairly big community where like 1/3 of the player count could be real players instead of bots. But, it is what it is, OSRS is purely a nostalgia-based niche game.
