Quests are too easy. Remove Quest Inventory
I feel like a large reason why quests feel a bit brainless and not rewarding is because key items go to your quest inventory.

If it didn't go to the quest inventory I might not have realised it was a key component based on the clues. Idk i Just miss the really hard quests of OSRS that make u scratch ur head. Way more rewarding.

Furthermore, as others have stated. Seeing all the quest items and the slots can give spoilers to the quest. Perhaps store them in a way that doesn't show the maximum items available for that quest so you don't know if you're near the end, and if the quest stage hasn't been reached, hide the text/prompts for that item or replace it with generic text.

My problem with quest inventory was that it was really hard for me to notice so I thought quests were impossible instead of easy. It actually makes these items harder to find if you do not notice the awkwardly placed UI feature.

I mean, if a unique quest item went to your inventory, isn't it kind of obvious it is used for something? You read it/examine it and it tells you information.

I feel like your nostalgia is getting the best of you. You've played games for years, of course quests are "easy" to you so you try to look for any reason on why that might be the case, instead of the obvious of "I've done so many puzzles in my life".

Many aspects of OSRS are obsolete in 2024. I dare to say the entire game is a museum right now, although having a fairly big community where like 1/3 of the player count could be real players instead of bots. But, it is what it is, OSRS is purely a nostalgia-based niche game.

For me the current system is perfect. I don't like questing in this kind of games only leveling professions, so that help me to know what i already did on the quest and how much left i am missing to do. Beside i hate to lose inventory space.
