Players afking aggro mobs - solution
Players are literally playing with a laptop/2nd mouse and just move their mouse where afk mobs are. I think this is against the spirit of the game personally and if you want to hard afk, you should do the overnight AFK methods or do an activity that has built in afk such as crime den raids.

I just dislike the idea of someone not even engaging with the content. They are just working from home, and have a 2nd laptop/mouse, and just move it so they do not log off and get re-aggro'd after 30 seconds (the immunity timer wears off). If they want to work from home and click on an enemy and attack it, sure, I don't mind, because you are playing the game.

I feel if this isn't adjusted, it will lead to more people just doing this method in future episodes, as aggro mobs will always be a thing on certain maps, devaluing the achievement of getting a high combat level.

At least with crime den raids, you have to click out of the building and on a door, and move to a specific square to afk. There is a form of engagement despite it being heavily afk. It is also tied to episode 4.

Immunity after a fight should last until you leave the map. If you ever cast immunity/end a fight, and go off to harvest resources, 30 seconds is plenty of time to harvest said resources.

Only problem is if they ever make an episode where a lot of things are aggressive, and to harvest resources fast, you need fear potions. But perhaps there can be a limit of 10-15 minutes on immunity until you leave the map.

For those that don't know, immunity runs out if you leave the map. So having it on for 10-15 minutes or "until you leave the map" isn't bad imo.

Immunity in general just feels like a weird concept. It and a few other things just feel like placeholders that are simply in the game until it is more complete. Same with Vendors with infinite supply. I can only wonder how immunity and PVP will work together lol.

Now, aggressive enemies in other games made a bit more sense because your HP wouldn't always fully recover right after. Here though, you can pretty much AFK indefinitely, with 0 penalty to dying if bad luck catches up with you.

This isn't something I do, however, the majority of the community here all come from the same place where AFK skilling in this manner is the norm and is widely accepted.

The question would be if the creators/designers are okay with this same type of thing to be on their game, and if they are then great, then they're probably pleasing a large number of their playerbase and you'd be a minority.

Wow, people playing their own way is a crime?

Yep, wish we can report players that cry because they can't think outside the box.

"Comparison is the thief of joy."

This game can be played, with a tablet, laptop, laptop that are touch screen, on a tv using a controller or keyboard and mouse, VR headset, and probably more way than the one I have listed here.

To the OP, you want my 100% attention in this game, then instead of complaining why people afk, maybe add content that require 100% attention.

At this point you are comparing your time vs other people, hence the quote, all you doing is going to have more player going anonymous because it's getting harder to play with envious players.

I don't understand how it would "devalue" an achievement. If you're being active then you will be killing mobs 2x or 3x faster because of the 30 second timer they are waiting through. How many kills does it take to get to 500? Now double or triple the time it will take to get there.

If you try to tackle this issue it's just gonna push these people to start botting instead

You're arguing against AFK activities in a game that literally has offline progress? Not sure you're in the right place. Nothing wrong with some semi-AFKing at times, not everything has to be 100% active full focus gameplay

My only issue with this comes from people using it as an offline training method instead of using passives. I'm not sure how you would stop it, though. With instances, it gets harder to catch people botting like this. Especially if they turn on all the anonymous filters. Maybe it's time to incorporate the good old random events. Making it so the player can't move until they address them.

Or we could incorporate... dare i say it? Fatigue.

Well it took awhile but we finally found the mediumcore training method.

The solution is powerful and elite AFK detecting software built into the game that starts to render a player into soup if they fall below a recommended (always recommended, but heavily encouraged!) random actions-per-minute scale!

If you fall below the recommended (always recommended, but heavily encouraged!) amount of random actions-per-minute the game will begin randomly trolling you, with little bubbles bouncing all around and covering the screen which "eat" clicks made, by making it so other players can just attack your enemies from under you even in the middle of fighting them, by making your passive power last 120 seconds because "you obviously need a little nap, and all the help you can get, with your lower ability to click" and then of course random events coming up and blasting you away to random rooms if you don't click them within 1.66 seconds of them showing up. Finally, a Guardperson NPC wearing aviators will show up and instantly ban the player for one hour if they don't tip them 1 silver and type THANK YOU SIR into the chat within a reasonable time frame (this happens while all of the above is going on.)

All of this will make the game better for us all! Don't like it? Just stay above the recommended (always recommended, but heavily encouraged!) random actions-per-minute and you'll be fine!

You're being ironic but these are good ideas and should be implemented.

You might be on to something.

Random events at least, I miss those. I want to be flipped off by that weird doctor again :winter2019sadbulb:

Real solution: remove aggression, rework fear potion to make enemies attack you.
Monsters being aggressive adds nothing to the game but aggravation and exploits.
You can't even pull aggro off a player because they'll just get instantly retargeted.

EDIT: I thought of an even better idea that integrates combat into the game more: now all enemies can become aggressive but when you kill them they become non-aggressive. Aggro monsters have a chance to spawn in that way, or will become that way after a duration passes without being killed. Now you can be interrupted while doing your thing but it won't be near nonstop harassment like it is now.

EDIT2: I just realized that would be hell on the save file, oh well it was worth a shot.

This is a single player game with a lot of other player as a noise. I don't see their choice of playing style harming other player except ego racer pushing for leaderboards. The essence of playing game is having fun no? if they having fun by doing that then leave them be if the dev allow it.

Your first edit is literally the current immunity system.
