Things I wish I knew before entering Episode 3 EDIT: Info regarding crafted products
The skills are mining, bonewright, blacksmith, and stonemason

You will want to have a few small stockpiles of items from the forest. Notably, wood, like hickory poles and oak poles. These are used to make weapons. There are some weapons that only need stones or bones, but you'll need wood for the first couple levels. (Coarse will get you through 0-37, and the rugged for 38+. You won't use wood for every craft, though, so don't go in feeling like you need thousands.)

The weapons and armor you make are based on your crafting level, you set it when you make the item. You then bring the weapon/armor to an obelisk to attune it to that region. This makes it easy to gear up your characters in every region without relying on droprates and luck.

Collect the gas leeches. You'll use them to prepare your rocks for stonemasonry. One gas leech, once filled, will provide 10 gas. Each time you use the machine (up to 6 stones can be placed in at once) it uses 1 gas. The gas storage can hold up to 1000.

All in all, this region takes care of my biggest gripe, which was the need to get new gear drops in every region. Once you reach the mines, you can make your own gear for the rest of the game, even if it's not the greatest gear.

EDIT: This is going to relieve some players and irk others, but it turns out that each of the three new crafts is specific to each faction. Blacksmith products are exclusive to cryoknights. Stonesmith products are exclusive to hammermages. Bonewright products are exclusive to guardians. The items you make will have random rarities. You set the level you want the item to be, and the max is based on your crafting level.

A simple fix would be for the devs to reveal the skills before visiting later regions.
It'd be similar to seeing the skill list in Runescape.
You won't know what everything does at first, but you can see the general leveling curve and what all there is.

I will say that it's partially on me for not paying attention when I was leveling carpentry. The info cards flat out say they're used for weapon crafting. I just assumed they were for higher level recipes once I unlocked the crafting bench.

Perfect! Thank you for the info ^_^

Gear drops weren't really a problem for me, but it's nice to know there are options for more pacifistic players. Neat.

Thanks for the heads up!

Nice thing is that you can buy all the supplies if you haven't farmed. But in general, it's a good idea to train every skill evenly at the start. Both to build up your supplies, and because you can't continue to other regions without higher total levels.

Been seeing people talking about selling the carpentry stuff like its just a flat copy-paste of Cooking while grinding for the storage, getting a chuckle out of people not even reading the item descriptions which flat out say they're used in gear crafting.

Well, for F2P people, it's the truth of it. I do hope that when bew episodes come out that past episodes go F2P. Even if it's just for 3, 4, and 5 so that F2P can get gear crafting.

I wonder if he should make episode 3 free, too, to better test how all of these systems work together.
