Offline Skilling, EXP Rates Far Too Slow?

Edit: Was probably a bug, i should have gotten like 3x the exp that i did.
I just woke up after about 8 hours or less of sleep maybe, whilst fishing for Dabs, i think i had lvl 22 fishing when i went offline, and i still have lvl 22 fishing after waking up >.< I gained like 4.4k exp. It's nothing at all o.o

Also max lvl for a skill is 500 or more.

I gues that is the point, but you do get some passive income aswell.

I believe its supposed to be like a resting bonus so you can start your next day with bonus xp and money.

I also think you get more if you unlock later passive activities

Keep in mind that max lvl for a skill is like 500 at least (can see it in the Cape Store)
But yeah i guess it makes sense because i'm doing the lowest lvl activity, but still not even 1 lvl up at such a low lvl.. was like a quarter of a lvl.

Well if offline skilling was so beneficial then there would be no point in doing anything else.

It's one quarter of xp sure but one quarter that you got for doing nothing

Are you sure you had enough bait and crates to keep fishing the entire 8hrs you were offline? I saw another post where they were fishing for dabs and got 14k xp in 8hrs.

I had like 15 bait, i still have about 5 left over.

I just logged back in from afk fishing dabs for around an hour. I had 1.8k xp. Multiply that by 8 and you get around 15k. Maybe there's diminishing returns or something. Im going to bed now so I guess I'll verify in the morning.

There are higher tiers, the level 20 version seems to be like 1500 XP an hour or so? That's not too bad, for entirely offline XP and money build up.

You can presume that the higher tier passive activities will be better. Right? Level 20, the first you unlock, are just basic b*tch tier.

AFK Fishing is needed for AFK cooking and then you can sell the finishning product for a profit to the head chef

I slept overnight for 10 hours and got 17k foraging xp at the lvl20 log spot

Because you're not supposed to use them for fast exp. They're very clearly an anti-botting mechanic that rewards your time spent logged out. I just woke up to a fat 15k guard exp and some silver.

If you want good exp, play the game. I actually vastly prefer this approach over RS' boring-ass "click thing and wait several minutes" approach.
