Maybe when all of the skills and episodes are out, they'll consider spreading stuff far and wide between the zones?
That episodic region specific skills and stuff feels kinda weird, yeah. I guess that's what they meant by discouraging grinding, lol
It'd also kinda be bad if we got the same skill again just with a different name in another region. I hope that doesn't happen.
It's a feature. Game's episodic nature has been known for a long time now. It's a linear game, with no open world, and you always move from a small room to a different room through a corridor. My assumption is that this is the weird solution the devs found to spreading different professions and grindable items through their very limited map.
And unfortunately I don't see this changing unless the whole map somehow gets overhauled. As it currently stands, there simply isn't any room for other professions in the episodes. It still really sucks though.
is there fishing in the second or third zone?
its a god awful system. it makes "progression" feel worthless
as every single zone you are level 1 again
Why have a different combat skill per chapter? Why should my health etc go down when I progress.
It's a very stupid mechanic. Totally antithetical to an MMORPG as well.
I personally messaged Andrew "the creator" to see what he has to say.
and then some people whose sole purpose is to have a game die?
I hope so, lol.
I'd definitely prefer a world where things are spread out far and wide and not condensed into individual pockets though. Like, discovering new trees, fish and ores in faraway lands and putting my skills to work is just way more adventurer than having it confined to specific zones.
It's too early to pass any judgement yet, though.
