Do the side quests if you haven't already

Don't bother grinding guard or anything by just slamming enemies for hours, the sidequests give you some profession xp and it takes way less time to get to 15 for the bow. The game is kinda terrible at telling you this and imo the tutorial was way too slow to get to the point. OSRS managed to introduce you to most of the game in the first 5mins this game spends too much time on making it "cinematic" imo.

OSRS also does a poor job of explaining the game, it teaches you the very basics. You're only saying this because you've likely played OSRS for a decade

I have to send a weapon order, but no idea where to get a fetid flounder lol

Did u figure the quest out? I went to the fisherman and bought the Spear to go fish it, but how the heck do I use the Note with the fish?

The Fetid Flounder can be found in the "Overgrown Pond" section, and you need to be level 25

everyone just discussing where to find things, what to do in quests, etc. that's how it should be.

I got to 20 fishing.

When you get to 20 you unlock a thing called knowledge, you then have to catch another 100ish fish to get to 100% knowledge to be able to use the fishing rod.

Now I can catch the Dab fish on the pier and it says you can logout and the game will continue fishing for you. The XP from here on seems EXTREMELY slow but at least it will level while your logged out!

To clarify, I found the fetid pond and know that to catch a fetid flounder it takes 25 fishing, but the quest dialog said that you can find one at the fish monger. Is that actually true or do you have to raise fishing in order to progress?

Pretty sure you need to catch one, put a note in and leave it at the fishmonger, but I might have misread.
