- ask to be invited to as many groups as possible right before going idle
- always 'mine' in the newbie areas whenever hitting max level
- PVP is for their own good
- Ganking isn't ganking when you waited a half second for them to pick it up.
Easy, just follow me.
Some of the early footage shows you can 'partner up' on some resources, like a double-ended saw for woodcutting... but I never saw any mention on if the resources became 'exhausted' like old RuneScape and nobody would be able to harvest there until it respawned.
We also don't know how many players can 'exist' in one place. Presumably it'll shard out the servers/rooms but if there's ~16 people in one area trying to harvest one rock for some starter quest/tutorial and the thing is always exhausted, we're going to suffer alot of frustration at the start xD
why not let people play the game THEY enjoy it the most? if they like to stay forever in the first area, let them?!
If I understand it correctly, the room system will alleviate this. There can be multiple copies of any room and they have a max occupancy.
So if resources are exhausted when someone harvests them and has to respawn, and there's 8 or 16 players in a single instance, and one of the early quests is "Look! A rock! You should harvest it!" and you have to complete it to continue, and there's 8 or 16 players all trying to hit the same rock first, then it'll be extremely frustrating. xD
It hasn't happened too recently... but this used to be a common problem is launch-day MMOs. I think the last time I experienced it personally was on New World, but man is it annoying when it does happen.
I will be pro-actively searching for an optimal guide to achieve this aim.
Ive never been a Meta player i find it extremely boring to play the same way as most players, infact i actually go against the meta in all games i play. I find it more fun.
