Sure hope it isn't, because there is nothing indicating that it uses gen AI on the storepage, which would be highly unethical, and potentially breaking TOS of Steam.

While we wait for the any comment from the devs, it's worth reporting this to Valve so they can give it a closer look

Unfortunately, the pandora's box of AI has been opened and this will always be a conversation with any piece of art you see on the internet, personally, I just have a hunch, there is just something odd about the style of the face that makes me suspicious

Regardless of what you think of the art, I'd say it makes perfect sense to talk about this on the steam forums.

I'm pretty sure the windows are just heavily filtered, not actually AI.

the cover art is what grabbed my attention to begin with, so AI or not i guess it served its purpose

Getting tired of the hate against AI art. Art made using AI is not inherently bad, it can absolutely look good if done well with touch up after. And the "it just doesn't look right, so sus" crowd have sent a number of hate crowds after artists online only to be proven wrong after. But that does not matter, since the artist left the web and is completely ruined at that point. So better bring some proof if trying to call stuff out.

Good or bad, they have an obligation to disclose it on the store-page. I agree with you though, starting a witch-hunt under some vague hunch that the cover art looks like AI is not the right thing to do.

I dont think it's AI, the face and hands are too normal to be AI, if it already ♥♥♥♥♥ windows up it has to be intentional, i can see it being that aswell with the general game vibe, its meant to be oldies wonky graphics

Perhaps, but I should also make it clear most models no longer have that issue with hands.

Yes, they need to disclose it, so why would they risk repercussions by keeping it in the dark? Sure, anything is possible, but over such a minor thing?

So, we have no actual reliable proof that AI was used, along with Steams guidelines about disclosing use of AI... How about we give the developers the benefit of the doubt? Bring actual reliable evidence, or better yet, contact the developer directly and ask before you "start blasting".

And on the topic of AI and art. AI is a tool, it is all about how you use it. Start getting used to seeing it, it ain't going away. And I am 100% certain that you have thought "Damn, that looks good" about something, and the artist used AI to lay the foundation for it. Not all AI art is slop.

I figured a steam post would've been enough to get the developer's attention? after all, they have replied to other forum threads fairly recently:
