Cozy Caravan

Time passes by..
Is it just me or is the time passing by way faster than before ? I always loved how relaxing the game feels but now i kinda start to feel stressed..

I was going to make a post about this, too, because I 100% agree with everything said.

Every little thing seems to pass the time (and a lot more of it than before), and now we lose out on a chunk of it because Bubba wants to call it quits in the evening (meaning we can't go anywhere and are forced to either set up camp or pass that time by doing cooking then). I think there might've even been a time when I was idle and time passed.

This new way of the time passing works for farming sim games, but it's terrible in this game and I really hope the devs listen to this and revert it back.

It feels a lot more stressful, and I can't get as much done. I find that I don't play this game as much since the change because it's just not fun.

"Cozy" Caravan isn't as cozy with this change, and to make it even worse I can't find ANYTHING in the patch notes about it.
Which means it was an "invisible"/"quiet" update...which is very sleazy of devs to do and makes me worry about a lack of transparency going forward.

ALWAYS tell your players if you change something, especially something as important as how time passes in your cozy game. If I missed it in the notes then I apologize and take it back, but I do not take back that the change is horrible and takes a lot of the coziness and laid back feeling out of the game.

Please change it back; your game isn't cozy like this.
Yeah, i noticed this too & it's actively annoying me that the days go faster than before. I already thought they were a little short for how much you had to travel and they seem even shorter now.
Supposedly, they changed it because people were complaining that they wanted the day to end early for market day.

Wonderful. It means the game was adjusted for people who tryhard cozy games.

I have no clue if they'll change it back (or at least compromise at having Bubba still stop in the evenings and keep the rest of time moving at the same pace as before)...currently trying to find out.

I want to play the game, but every time I remember that there's a time crunch now it kills that urge since I don't play games to get stressed.

I've played plenty of farming sims where there is a time crunch, but they were like that from the start and I knew what I was getting into (plus, it works for them). This game's time flow was such a breath of fresh air from the typical "time moves fast" formula, and now it's even more stressful because that sort of timeflow doesn't work for this type of cozy game.

Certainly, if time had been moving like this during the demo or the very beginning of the game's release, I would not have purchased it because I would have felt that stress to get things done.
I wonder if they'd be able to code a "day speed" option. One of the best options in Sun Haven is the ability to choose between a few time frames ( I think is 20-30-40 minutes) for how long a day takes.

I assumed we had included the updated time advancing in the update notes however it seems we missed the update note, this was unintentional.

The time of day passing has always been tied to the players actions but it previously only incremented when you drove the caravan around. The problem with this was that if you were wandering around an area for the day to advance it would never happen. This was never intended to be the final solution but it was all we had implemented at the time.

To clarify, the intent is to have your actions progress the day so you can take as long as you want doing things and time will only advance as quickly as you interacting with the game.

The other problem we had with the transition to camp was that it felt like it interrupted your play. Now we have the world transition to Dusk to indicate the next interaction with the caravan will go to camp. At this time you are still free to do whatever you want in the current location before you start camp.

I have already made the time advance slightly slower since the last update (this is not in the public build yet) and we will continue to tweak and adjust these and all of the other settings in the game as we continue with development.

We'd be curious to hear which elements of the current implementation are making the game feel less 'Cozy' for you.

Given there is no true deadline to any activity/quest we are curious as to what is making players feel a time pressure.
