Those streets are getting nastier every day. It's time to give you more tools to do the job with. Here's the lo-down on today's update:

You can now play local co-op!

When enabled, co-op mode allows each player to choose a cop and control them exclusively. All you need to get started is an extra Xbox 360 controller or mouse and keyboard.


We've added context sensitive commands to the game, enabling you to wrangle more control over your AI partner. Hover over an object to see the available commands including:

- Make an arrest
- Destroy that door
- Kill

We've thrown in a few extra gameplay tweaks too!

o Added Enemy AI reaction animations
o Objectives window toggle
o Camera Zoom Out increased (helpful for co-op mode!)
o Added 16:10 rendering option for PC

Get back on those streets cops, and take your buddies with you.

The first update for LA Cops is available now, packing tweaks and changes to AI based on community feedback. Here's what to expect when you next take to the criminal-ridden streets of LA:

• Friendly AI reaction time significantly increased
  
• Friendly AI run speed increased
  
• Player overall run speed increased significantly
  
• Player overall health increased
  
• Slowed the enemies down slightly to avoid the zombie attack effect
  
• Updated player mini-map icon to white and a black cross is shown when player is dead
  
• Lvl 3 sections 1 and 2 made easier
  
• Hearing ranges of enemies reduced
  
• Objective list can now be toggled on and off (PC: t key) (Xbox and PS4 pads: d-pad right)
  
• Updated pad controls image to be either the Xbox or the PS4 pad depending which one is connected
  
• Health Bars above enemies (scaled to represent relative health)
  
• Health Bars above players
  
• Added Volume slider to Options menu
  
• Health packs spawned on timer
  
• A health pack will spawn again when a player has been revived on a delay if level has been replayed more than 2 times
  
• A donut pickup will spawn again when the last donut has been picked up after a delay if level has been replayed more than 2 times

Listen up cops,

There's one vital asset in your crime fighting arsenal that will keep you alive on the mean streets of LA - and it's not that cup of joe. Your partner, used correctly, will have your back and keep you alive in the roughest of tough sitches.

This post details a few of the tactics that you can use to utilise your partner effectively, but it's not definitive. Add your own tactics to the comments below and help those rookies get started and those criminals get busted!

The simplest of tactics. You and your partner stand at the precipice, waiting to burst into that room and rain the full fury of justice down on those drug dealing criminal morons. Logic tells you that sending only one cop in leaves you with once cop left standing if it all goes to pot.

Screw logic. As you move in through that door, tell your partner to move in at the same time. Each of you should cover one side of the room, splitting the number of enemies in need of a bullet by half for each cop. BOOYAH.

Two doors, one room, more enemies than you can violently shake a pistol at. A rookie would scoff at that second door. But you know better. Your experience with the Barnstormer has taught you that splitting enemies up is better than splitting your own skull on a hailstorm of bullets and cheap insults.

Put yourself on one door, your partner on the other. At one and the same time, storm through with your partner, each taking the baddies closest to you. Pop, pop, pop and the room is clear.

A personal favourite for those extra sticky sitches.

Pop your partner a little way back from the only door that leads into the room where all the crooks have gathered for a jamboree (or whatever the hell they do). If you can find your buddy some cover to fire from, all the better. Make sure he/she is facing the correct direction too, and not face first in a strawberry frosted DoDo (BORLAND.)

Unfortunately, you get the wonderous task of being bait. Kick down the door, make a riot's worth of noise and then run back to your buddy with your arms in the air, flailing like a helpless child. Those idiots will, one by one, file through the door for your partner to execute in a cool, calm and collected fashion.

Problem solved.


When all else fails, this one will thin their numbers out.

It's brutally simple - send your partner in first. If you've ever heard of the Forlorn Hope, the way that this plays out is extremely similar. You exchange the life of your partner for less enemies in the long term. It's a horrible way to treat your most trusted ally, but what is trust unless you get something out of it?

Just remember to pick up a med pack and get your buddy back on his feet before your next criminal death-fest.

The 4th update for LA Cops is available to download right now and it's packing some serious heat. I need you in there now, before the Chief puts himself on my back...

Hostage situations call for a certain level of "moderation". You'll want to avoid the explosives on this one, which makes the fact that we've chucked in a few explosive barrels all the more dangerous. Oh, and be warned, the bad guys have backup.

What is Teddy Green really up to?

Oh, so you think you're a big shot now? Hardcore makes the bad guys badder. They'll be harder to take down and react much faster. Should still be a cakewalk for an experienced cop like you.

Oh, so you think you're a REAL BIG SHOT now?

Nightmare mode will make you cry. You have been warned. Here's our attempt at level 2, for example.

If you reported it in our forums, it's probably fixed. Found a new bug for us to tackle? Report it in the forum.

As part and parcel of the changes made in this update, save data created before this update will no longer load. In short, you'll have to start from scratch. We hate doing this and know that it may frustrate players - the changes above required a change to the way the game saves data, and we hope you'll understand that it's for the greater good!

Hot on the heels of update No2 we're happy to say that a Update No3 is now available for you to download and play as of sending this email.
This is more of a point update and as such it includes improvements to many of the systems and features in the game whilst addressing bugs and issues as we've found them.
We cant thank you, the community, enough for all your help in telling us what is and isnt working in the game. Its been invaluable and we really appreciate your support.

Amongst other improvements here's a list of the changes made in this update:
