RGSS3 Player has stopped working. (Resolved)
This issue may occur after pressing F1 in-game and changing certain settings (such as full screen or reduce screen flickering).

Re-installing or editing your .INI file will not fix this issue; you need to remove the folder "Enterbrain" in the registry to fix this (open regedit and do a find for Enterbrain, then delete that folder). Note that this may remove settings for other RPG Maker based games you have installed.

I've made a quick youtube video tutorial;

Please be careful when making changes in the registry, as deleting the wrong thing may cause your operating system to stop booting.

Instructions:
- Close game
- Open Start menu, choose Run (on Windows 10, right-click Start and choose Run)
- Type regedit
- In the menu bar at the top, go to Edit and then Find
- Type Enterbrain and press OK
- Wait for search to finish
- Right-click on Enterbrain folder and delete

Try setting Fullscreen=0 in the ini file and see if that fixes it. In the future, use F5 to toggle inbetween fullscreen and window mode. The fullscreen option built into the editor does strange things. It might have something to also do with Windows 10. I haven't tested Ace on that OS yet.

I'm looking into it with the tech team at Degica. Thanks for the reports.

I'm having this same problem, has there been a fix found yet?

I tried alt tabbing and it gave the game a white background around the playscreen (on 4:3 aspect ratio) which was annoying and distracting so I closed the game. Now when I launch the game it displays the stopped working notification. I set fullscreen to 0 on the .ini and now when it launches it just flashes (still trying to go into fullscreen) then crashes without the stopped working dialog box.

Reinstalling and validating integrity of game cache did not solve.

I'm on Windows 7 by the way.

Edit: Fixed, see original post.

Thanks Michael. I appreciate you troubleshooting it. I had asked someone at Degica and totally forgot to follow-up.

I'll pin this thread.

Any idea if this is done differently on Windows 7? I've only messed with registry editing twice so I'm a bit hesitant to do anything with it in my limited experience.

If you CTRL+F the word Enterbrain in the registry, it will pull up the same folder. There will only be one instance of this in the registry, regardless of OS, so you should be able to use that method to easily find the folder and delete it.
