King of Progress issues
KoP has very bad perks. Starting as KoP is just pain, no initial boosts, can even lose turn 1. Rats are useless and so are the ranged troops. I have to restart the game to get protectors and even then its not a good run. There is not even start with random extra cards perk.

Yeah agreed he feels like the weakest king atm
"Rats are useless"?! :steamhappy: oooh maaan, rats scale like crazy, you can reach year 99 and beyond when you use maths on them, carefully read the cards and make use of the abilities, instead to trying to force the same strategy on king of progress you might have been successful with other kings ... ...

It doesn't really matter how much something can scale on year 99 if it starts out so weak that you die before year 10.

My issue currently is that I'm stuck at round 84 with 7 adjacent rat fields, 6,5k rats, shrine x2 update and so on. Rat field number #1 is level 533 with dozens of buffs... sadly the game cannot handle those numbers and is now crashing every round and the game needs 5 minutes to load after restart. The rat field #1 on it's own did like 184 trillion damage the round before. Guess I can only give up the run if I want to continue playing this game.

So in fact... KoP and rats is not useless. Found the way to scale the damage to break the game. And I'm playing on a 12700k, 32 GB RAM and 3070ti.

Ya KOP is kind of ♥♥♥♥ he needs some better perks to stabilize early game - doesn't matter how well he scales if it only happens 1/50 runs. Weakest King objectively right now above King difficulty.

all his stuff is for hyper scaling like they said with rats to year 99, but the actual "supported" game loop goes to year 34, and it doesnt scale that much before then. try using him on king IX difficulty and i think about lost my mind

i never clear king difficulty with this king, only heavy troop is good , others are just simple trash , a spell that something lvlup +1% attack bro what?
By far the worst character in the game and it's not even funny.

Best strat I found for KoP is stacking the reflect dmg infantry + poison
which makes it so enemies that hit them, also hit themselves for 100% of the dmg and gets whatever level of poison the reflectors have.

Join you there. Early game is a hell for Progress.
Unlike others that may gain early bonus, his are really late.
Mothership doesn't work well enough to carry alone early, the enchant is a scaling enchant and the gold gain is. . . Mediocre. It can snowball but you need so much luck just to pass early game.

And i'm only trying King 1 :D

same happen to me, after 5 craches i got to continue game but my game start on day 1 without any building on my board and after that game just softlock
If you manage to roll defenders and some towers to buff your mothership it's piss easy, you can easily scale it to 100 damage multiple times a second covering most of the map and at that point everything that comes to close to you just instantly dies

Played 5 rounds of KoP — lose always around Year 21.
Turned down difficulty one step — still lose around Year 21.
Came here, saw this posted — 'nough said, I guess.
Been having similar issues. High difficulty King of Progress' early game is awful. Defenders are your only hope.

I wonder if they replace one of his perks with one that lets you start with a Defender card, if that might help the early game.
