On the new balance patch
Overall still the same as previous patch. Crashed at wave 100 the moment thieves started tping.
Progression "wall" is now in the 70 - 80 range rather than at 55 but i suspect this is fundamental problem with formula for enemy stats (exponent suspected). Earlier waves scale a bit harder but thats a good thing imo.
Meta build from previous patch is still the only way to beat this because thieves are fundamentally the only "ranged" unit without the drawback of projectile travel times.
Suggestions (i understand that some or all might be very difficult to implement):
1) Enemy scaling formula rework to eliminate the "wall"
2) Allow enchantments on turrets and summoners (might lead to more divrsity in viable builds)
3) Allow buffing summons from buildings via working buildings (see pt 2)
4) Rework Overinvestment to make it less potent by itself, more accessible outside Greed king and less reliant on repeatedly drawing it - my suggestion is the following: "Spend ALL your gold. For every 4 gold spent buff all stats of a unit or tower by 1%"
Edit - looked at patch notes and since your formula uses fibonacci numbers it has the same fundamental problem that the exponent has - eventual rapid wall

I still think the Spell King is the problem, in terms of enemy army, the others seem fine. Just caused a soft lock fighting them at year 69 and it was smooth sailing until then.

Might be that only this kings army needs to be looked at and tweaked.

I was more talking about the viability of other units compared to thieves as melee dies to achers and ranged units hit the wall of projectile travel times. On the topic of Spell king: I was fine with holding him for 1 more round of declaration of war/peace in the run (so well into 70s).
Hm but I ran Merc with Boars in my run, no ranged, no thieves and still got to 69 with 3 lives. No issue until that point, so I think theres more nuance to the game than just carpet stating theres thieves. You can make plenty more units viable to outscale the game into infinity, from my experience anyway.
