Trying to figure it out as well. From some searches of discussions, it seems to be a bit of chance, or brute-forcing in a particular region (which I haven't found yet).

I eventually got it after a few infuriating hours. I would share screenshots of my solution, but the game doesn't let me take screenshots, so I'll do my best to describe it. I had to wait until the planet orbited directly to the right of the star, and when it was in that region I launched the probe to the bottom-left. I don't know if that's the region other people mention, but if it is, then I find it rather distasteful that the game makes you wait 30 seconds before taking potshots at a random chance of success, and thus don't feel bad about giving away the solution.

If it can't be solved firing in the first 10 seconds it really needs to be redesigned or the start needs to be moved forward 20-30 seconds.

I completely agree with you. Requiring the player wait 20+ seconds for every retry, on a level which requires a "lucky shot," is completely disrespectful to the player's time.

Granted, there may be a way to solve it within the first 10 seconds, but I doubt that.

I've gotten close to success by firing a short distance down and to the right, aiming close to the bottom center of the screen, shortly after starting. The projectile burns off momentum and gets pulled by the planet to head vertically up the screen and orbit the sun loosely. I've gotten all but 1 section filled, but it always finds a way to fail.
For all the positive reviews of the game, it's strange that there are no videos of this level completed.

I can't imagine the people who would be interested in buying this game overlap a whole lot with the people who record all their games as they play them. And with the inconsistent/irrepeatable nature of the game, none of those people would want to sit in their seat for an hour waiting for the shot to line up perfectly all over again so they can get their 12 seconds of victory footage.

Gotta agree : this level is a pita. I think that's the only one I have left to complete, and been trying countless times without success :( ... Best I did was 1 and a half hexagon left to clear .... *sighs*

Great game otherwise :)

Thanks, that helped, I finally managed to do it, but it was more luck than anything else ...

I don't think there's any non-luck-based solution to this puzzle.

it takes less than 3 seconds from start to shoot, you need to shoot at the red pointer( maybe slightly move it left. Main thing you need to do is to make sure you hit the area marked blue at the first "flight", other than that it still luck. Hope this will help someone.:Switcher:
This worked for me after like 20-30 or so tries. Thanks for sharing~

I'm well aware this is a 5 year old thread but I've been stuck on this Acrux AB level for the duration of those 5 years and finally solved it using the above. THANK YOU! You have saved me from losing my mind.

Sry for the Necro (played a daily level and was the only one) but I tried to follow Omnibrilists post and experimented around with several factors, first the starting point, then the starting time and with a few dozen tries got a working pattern that only needed fine tuning.
So I developed

after following this you should find a trajectory like this:

which seems pretty reproducable.
