Question on generation materials

I have a ton of tier 1 generation materials (white).
BUT, I am currently working with green generation materials.

My question is...
Should I delete the Tier 1 materials since I am not using them? or is there another reason to keep them? Can they even be turn into the next tier of materials??? I have level up my workbench and I don't see a way to turn them into greens or something.

Please help.

Just recycle them for materials. Exchange those on the timed shop for what you might need for other things

Yeah, there currently isn't any way to upgrade core equipment materials. Once you have enough to start crafting the next gen of equipment for your squad, best to just start recycling any lower gen ones for basic mats.

Also, FYI, weapon core mats go up to gen 5 (yellow), but everything else currently only seems to go up to gen 4 (purple). So don't go crazy wondering where your gen 5 armor mat drops are, 'cause they don't exist.
