I’m considering buying the game but I don’t know if I will have enough players onboarded on my side. Is there a matchmaking system, or servers you can join ?

Yeah, you can create your own (Public, Hidden, Locked) lobby - or you can find someone elses public lobby.

I see people are also active on Discord for finding groups to join for games.
