(SOLUTION): Microphone workaround (when default input device workaround doesn't work)

I posted in another thread about how I couldn't get my Scarlett Solo 3rd gen audio interface to work in LOCKDOWN Protocol. It works in Discord and other apps, but not LOCKDOWN Protocol. My issue was unrelated to setting the default input device.

When I would open the Audio tab in settings (ESC menu), I could see the 0..1 input threshold bouncing, but no one could hear me. What I ended up doing to workaround this was the following:

1. Installed the VB-Cable Virtual Audio Device from their official site.
2. Installed and configured OBS to route my microphone through that virtual cable. To do this, add an audio source selecting your microphone device. Right click the audio source and select advanced audio properties. Check Mono and "Monitor Only (mute output)". Finally, in settings, go to Audio -> Advanced -> Monitoring device and set it to CABLE Input (VB-Audio Virtual Cable)
3. Set your default input device (or LOCKDOWN Protocol's default input device) to "VB Cable Output".
4. Restart LOCKDOWN Protocol.

I hope this helps others while we wait for a proper fix to land.

Спасибо, помогло! У меня Scarlett 2i2 3rd gen и тоже была проблема с тем что меня не было слышно. Помогло то, что я транслировал свой микрофон на виртуальное аудио устройство VB-Cable. Только за место OBS использовал Adobe Audition CC.
