Failed MOBAs || A Retrospective
I literally have no idea why this game failed. It doesn't have a clear reason. At some point, it couldn't generate enough money and that's it. Multiplayer Games are doomed to fail at some point. Some just fail faster. This one ran through its natural life cycles and never too off. That's it.

With Master X master it was mostly brought down by publishers changing the ingame economy with a new patch like straight up made things more expensive like masters while they removed alot of requirements on alot fo the masters that had them ( witch made alot of the players who got those items for those masters feel shafted cause they could have waited and got them when they removed the requirements) and overall making masters more expensive

Like i enjoyed master x master before that patch and i was saving up for a master i wanted but then that patch dropped and made her twice more than what she was.

i was 1 crystal away from getting her i come on now i need double the amount of crystals. man ♥♥♥♥ that.

i would say with masters it should be moved to killed off by publishers
But with darkbreed i think it failed mostly do to small player base ( i played it but my computer at the time always had a stroke trying to run it so it was always laggy) and jsut wasnt bring in money but i would beleive that it was msotly small playerbase that killed it plus around this time LoL was gaining so much trackion that alot of players jsut where playing league and not this
this game died in alpha, didnt even give itself the chance to take off. didnt help that its updates went a meta direction rather than build upon its unique aspects that separated it as a MOBA. All in all it's not the mechanics or player base to blame but the devs for killing their game too quickly.
because when devs have to run servers, stuff has continual costs, and that does not work well with a game being not used by many users. Such games always need user run servers.
