Possible Bug?
So I'm not that far into the game, defeated the first dungeon and also got my first form I can transform into using the dance. I am using an Xbox controller, and I've noticed that when I dance to transform, I don't always transform.

Perhaps this is a bug or I'm doing something completely wrong? Sometimes I can dance for a good 10 seconds, release the button and won't transform, other times I'll dance for all of 2 seconds and transform. Unless it's related to the amount of mana I have at the time?

It just feels like I'm doing something completely wrong or not getting the whole dance/transform mechanic down.

It's not a bug. You get more dances later and the dance poses each corrilate to a different one. Only the first pose will transform you into a monkey.

Ok, I think I understand now. So she has 3 poses while dancing: hands spread to the side shaking hips / hands clasped shaking hips / leaning back hands spread in a diagonal.

So I have to basically dance up to that particular pose, then release the button? All the in game tooltip said was to dance to transform, mentioned nothing of the 3 poses, I just figured they were an added bonus, and with later transformations you would get the option to choose from a menu or something.

Thank you very much, I figured there was something I was missing.

I don't have the first one, but I sae some LP's on it and the dances in the first game used to be a button-combo you needed to use every time, like the Ocaraina of Time. I think that must have gotten annoying, so you just hold 1 button for a given amount of time for each form.

Did the dancing for cash mechanic ever come back in any of the other games? Just curious. Seemed like it'd break the game to me. Easy money, and fun to look at too!

I see they made an escuse by having a villager call Shantae "shy". I guess they're going with Shantse feeling awkward about it? I gotta admit, throwing the cash like that, just for dancing, feels like something for a gentleman's club. I wouldn't blame them for removing it. Not that I'd have a problem with Shantae being a dancer who puts on shows as a source of income, but making it a mechanic that gets money thrown at you, assumingly by the patrons, makes her seem like a stripper. I know belly dancing is not that kind of dance!

About dance parlor, well, people could associate it with strippers(honestly I don't see much difference, both earns money from sexual appeal) but that was actually realistic. People can literally throw money to belly dancers or attach it to her costume or something, that's how it really is.

I see... Well, I stand corrected. Regardless, there's a heck of a difference between the beautiful and sensual belly dance and the purely sexual 'exotic' dance. But that's a topic for another thread.

I did know what you meant by minigame, btw. I just wanted to know if that gameplay element ever came back.
