Anyone Else having trouble with XBoxCE?
Hi all, I had been playing this fine for a few weeks, had to reinstall Windows, and ever since then I can't get it to recognize my gamepad with xboxce (the XBox Controller Emulator). It's definitely hooking the exec. I can hear the XBoxCE 'bing' when I start the game, but the gamepad doesn't work. It's a real pain. Anyone know if there's some combination of settings I need?

Use Joypad as an alternative. Sorry I can't help with your problem. Hope you find a solution soon.

I don't have an XBox controller (I use a Buffalo; a replica of a Super Famicom controller), but... when a game doesn't "see" my controller, I just use Joy2Key. It's never failed me.

This game does have a bit of an issue with movement keys, though. For some reason, the arrow keys won't properly link with the directional buttons on your controller. So if you use Joy2Key, you have to go in the game's options and rebind your keyboard movement keys from the arrow keys to any letter keys instead. Then you link those new keys via Joy2Key as normal and it'll work as it should.

Alas and alack Shantae doesn't work well with key binders. It doesn't support diagonals on the keyboard so when you hit one she stops dead...

For me and another user, the directional keys (linked to a controller) didn't work at all. But once we went in-game and set the movement keys to letters on the keyboard, then linked *those* letters to our controller, they worked just fine.

Very odd.
