i dont understand how to unlock more machines

The current quest ask me to use the Bloody Smoker but is locked for me and i cant use the research points to unlock the machine. I have the blood distiller, bloody ice and the arcade map, but the rest of the traps/machines are locked so i cant spend the research points

Some machines can only be unlocked in the next map. For instance Map 1 Star 3 requires you to decorate in the Kawaii Style which is unlocked in Map 2.

@Godspeed omg thank you! I’ve been at this for almost an hour looking for this and the game told me nothing about how to actually access it!!
