i dont think there is really any difference, but ive been having some horrible bugs in the DLC which i didnt have in the original AC4 so i would probably go with standalone

after about an hour in it started to freeze every couple minutes, but when i disabled the UPLAY in-game overlay it seems to have fixed it. but funny thing is i have both the standalone and game XD

I personally recommend as a Standalone if you want to play the full collection as the Initiates service reads Freedom Cry as a seperate game when you own the standalone.

If you really don't care about that, get Black Flag with this game as a DLC

The DLC version has one extra figurehead for Adéwalé's ship.

get them all the dlc .their all decent .compared too unity ,unity is made really bad compared too black flag

Apparently, finishing Freedom Cry as AC4 DLC rather than standalone gets bonuses in AC4 multiplayer. If that matters to you.
Just notice somebody mentioning it for easy leveling up or unlocking stuff, and I got nothing added to the MP.
