Ezio was by far the best character
QFT. Totally agree.
Oh and Ezio by far>the rest in any order. They were all bad imo except for Altair in Revelations.
Now that Rogue and Unity is here, no one needs to worry about the rest. Arno may suit somewhere but Shay is undoubtfully one of the worst characters ever created in gaming history.
Thorun, you are exactly right on everything you say here Sir. Plese email me, so I can have you on my station, 107.9 FM . dessnr@hotmail.com
Both characters have quite some backstory which is not all given in the game but actually some sideinfos i discovered on forums.
However i had quite a few laughs with Edward i couldnt really get with Adewale. If its about leading i bet on Adewale but if its about which character is like the better protagonist i must they they are both quite good and cannot say that either of them is better or one is worse.
I actually tend to say i like Shay because he is the character i believe dispises killing the most.
Well Desmond was/is not a lead character in any sense of the word. I'm trying to get Freedom Cry activated (but can't find the Activation Code, and the CD Key that's on the launch window isn't being recognized) so I haven't played Adewale's character yet. But from what I've seen in videos and trailers, he seems like someone who could be a great leader of a large group of people with a cause.
Edward.
Well, he's a strong character but a loner who has specialized in piracy which he obviously excels at, so he's a good leader in that he's a great captain and leader of a not too large group of men who aren't easily led (as pirates and un-authoritarian people rarely are - at least not while being useful as members of a group of outlaws, anyway).
Altair.
He was in action during the Desmond period, and though he's a much stronger character than Desmond was, I don't see him as a top boss of any movement, but I can easily imagine him as second in command to the top leader, but unlike the top leader Altair will thrive by being active in the field where a top leader mostly needs to remain at head quarters and generally heavily guarded so all his mental capacity is free to be used for transactions, negotiations, scheeming, leading meetings, planning, taken lods of intel gathered by his men in the field, and devicing orders and changes of plans as changes occur in the moment during the undertaking of other plans and scheemings, etc. He needs to be fluently afluent, if you get my meaning, which Altair obviously was not but on the contrary presented particlular difficulties with,
Ezio.
Ezio proved that he could take the position as leader of a family, an area of land, and of leading the progress of the people living under his leadership and furthering the wealth of his home, his territory and family, and the traditions and wellbeing of all this which was his greatest love, along with women. He did not have any wish to meddle in big time politics or try to take over larger areas or, eventually, Itality as a whole, so in that sense he was not the choice I would make for someone to become THE great leader, neither in the game world of Assassin's Creed nor in what we know as Real Life.
Aveline.
I haven't completed this game, but I imagine she would be a good leader for a freedom movement and function as one with extra helpful contacts. She could, if the game had been part of our real historical past, have been one of the characters who played a main role in ending slavery in one or several parts of the world as it was in her time.
.........
So until I know more about Adewale, I'd make this verdict: Altair, if he was given the necessary time and extra, extensive and intensive training, would probably be the best choice for the optimal best leader out of the possibilities presented in your question.
