ASTRODELIA

ASTRODELIA

Demo
I really like the story that is at the heart of this game. However, from the beginning I was VERY frustrated with the controls. The very first puzzle is a docking puzzle requiring manipulation of two types of movement at the same time, forward and backward and target aiming. neither stop moving at any time and the speed is near impossible to control. Further, it requires too much precision. I found after several attempts that I was incredibly close to the target but it still failed to dock. The puzzle itself is a good fit to the game but needs to be easier to achieve.

Another puzzle requires you to click on the floor to walk instead of clicking in general direction you want to go in. I found it frustrating hunting for active spots between assets.

I hope that the developer will use beta testers before releasing this game because with some tweaking it could be fun. Unfortunately, as it is now, I would not buy it.

UPDATE: i have since acquired a controller and found the docking puzzle easier to achieve. However, I had to switch back to the keyboard to continue playing. It seems like you can't fully play with a controller. After getting further into the demo I found the puzzles were really fun and am looking forward to seeing more.

Hello Haruko, it is difficult to find a balance in puzzles between a difficulty that does not frustrate and an ease that does not bore. In the first scene you refer to, controlling the ship is the puzzle itself. You have to keep in mind that it is in space, the movement does not stop unless counteracted by the rockets. As we have surely seen in many SciFi movies, coupling is complicated in space, it is necessary to develop the sense of counteracting the movement, with small bumps, like a supermarket cart: that is the puzzle in this scene.

In Astrodelia, each scene has a puzzle or challenge to overcome of a different nature: skill, ingenuity, calculation, decryption, hidden objects, etc. Part of the challenge of the game is the ability to quickly adapt to different skill requirements: finding the tricks. However, if someone finds a puzzle unsolvable, help can be accessed to pass the scene from the menu.

Clicking on the ground to move the character (Tom) is the commonly used method in the game: you click on the area of the floor where you want Tom to go. In some scenes this is also part of the puzzle, spatial vision. In other scenes that require it, control switches to first person.

I would encourage you to follow a few more scenes since there are very interesting challenges and experiences later on.
Thank you!

I like the quirky feel to it, and truly the spaceship docking procedure was fun in itself. I'll play more later. Im not that good at puzzles.
