Resolution Help

Hey everyone, I'm sorry if I'm in the wrong discussion but I need help and didn't know where to post. I just got the Old 2003 Praetorians Steam game and have looked at old online forums but I'm just not getting it. It started off good when I first loaded it but then it went black with sound. I uninstalled it tried it again and now I'm able to get to the main game where I can click start Campaign. Once I do that I see the load bar on the bottom but then nothing like it froze. Load bar with black screen. I'm forced to restart my computer. I don't even know where to go to change my resolution if that's even it or do I need to download mods from another site? I'm not very tech-savvy and I seriously need like a simple step by step process that can help me. Sorry but thank you.
