most of the time press doesn't do anything,
sometimes makes screen black takes you to room with other elevator closed..

You can go back to the previous floor and check if you are not sure about somthing.

but what is there to be not sure. if previous level correct, +1 level, if previous level incorrect, will already be back to level 0 start again, no point in checking previous no??

If you are not sure if one object was there before or not or if an object has changed and you can't say for sure, then you can go back and see how it was in the previous level.
It's a very useful feature.
