gameplay-wise, "Halo: Spartan Assault" is less engaging, has less features and gimmicks, overly more convoluted and messy and just more boring than "Halo: Spartan Strike", which is kinda understandable because it was released first. the latter game has more dialogs, stories, better gameplay and overly I enjoyed it more
story-wise, "Halo: Spartan Assault" is set in a year 2554 (between Halo 3 and Halo 4). the first half of "Halo: Spartan Strike" is set in a year 2552 (during Halo 2) and the second half in a year 2557 (during Halo 4). I am not a huge Halo fan, so sorry if I confused it a bit
it took for me ~30 hours to 100% finish "Halo: Spartan Assault" and ~20 hours to "Halo: Spartan Strike"
overly, "Halo: Spartan Assault" feels more arcadish and less polished comparing to "Halo: Spartan Strike", but it doesn't mean the game is bad, just mind
PS, and yes, having the two games with mostly the same names is just afwul...
