How Does Pay Work Exactly?
Been playing the game for about a day now with some friends and it's awesome. We usually work at the metalworks until a war happens or rations start to be distributed. It is still unclear to me what gets you paid and how exactly you get paid. I had someone tell me mining does not earn you credits but shipping off boxes does. I have only signed/stamped one box for shipment but I have been paid multiple times, so is there some weird intricacy with what tasks get you paid and what tasks don't? Any answers would be appreciated.

Collecting raw resources (mining, fishing, dumpster diving, farming, gathering dirty laundry) doesn't pay you. Actually working in the different jobs (washing, drying, folding laundry; adding req resources to the ration maker and solving math problems; making ingots and processing them into parts/shipping them) pays you a little for every incremental part of the job. Some jobs pay a little more, and you make less overall depending on the level of rot. More rot = less pay.

Sort of. Every role has things that directly pay you. For proles you typically get paid on completion. So if you stock crates ad sign them, you get paid. Any "finished" task in a factory will pay you, so crates and wartime nukes being finished.
