how do you make money

ive tried looking up everything on how to make money and start invading others but never works. either i get attacked first trying to build (even with an alliance), or money income is too low even after building temples and resources. anyone got some tips to help? it feels a bit too complicated sometimes to play this.

I think it more like you upgrade ur economy of provinces (effect direct income + more efficiency for production --> more income )or tax efficiency (better tax --> more income, or get more population --> more income). I normally try to build resource production of area (logging camp, grain farm..etc.. --> boost better). But still, those ways are for getting more surplus income rather having chunk of gold rightaway. You still can get chunk of gold using advantage thingy (scroll symbol) or you can take loan ( but not that much as game doesnt allow us to choose how much loan can take, it is pretty preset amount base on ur stats, i think)
