Not much really, just graphics related differences mostly. This game has far more detailed combat and armies than EU4. And overall it is about 2000% cheaper lol. So far I like what I see, apart from the pixellated coastlines which look pretty horrid. This game will be a lot more generic than EU4.

Age of History 3 is a far simpler, but still fun version of EU4 that doesn't cost a fortune. And it's mostly made for multiplayer.

Price of EU4 with all DLCs is ridiculous.

It's impressive how 1 dev managed to make such good game.

I think the art in this game is better than that in EU4 but its probably AI generated.

AI GENERATED CONTENT DISCLOSURE
The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Game contains images of units, buildings, characters generated by AI.

One of the main differences is this game covers multiple time periods from the Ancient World to the Modern Day

This is a very simplified EU4 wannabe that you dont have to spend thousands of $ on and not waste hundreds of hours to learn basic mechanics. If you already play EU4 I dont see any reason to play this though.

I own EU4 and all of the DLC bar the last one and I am playing this. Other than the events and trade its pretty much the same, but a lot more flexible and wider ranging than EU4 I think. Its obviously going to lose out when compared in terms of details but for the price you cant really go wrong. And this game is pretty complex. I am pretty lost atm.

Is this game challenging though? Can you lose or is it just a map painter? Do any of the choices you make really matter or are they just there to give you something to do?

Well I've lost several EU4 games being attacked by all my neighbours ganging up on me, so hopefully this game is more fun

Well, for now its very difficult cuz of a lot of new mechanics. Its more interesting and fun than AoH 2. Losing there is quite easy.

in my experience, its easier then aoh2, atleast the ai doesn't spam troops to sizes you can never afford on the next turn like 2 did
