Web Counters in XARA
So after receving Xara Web Designer Silvet for free with my new laptop i bought few month ago, i decided to get Xara Web Designer 10! To be honest i could not see any difference between Sivler and Designer 10? I see you can add fancy stuff like buttons, and SWF and you tube
links and videos etc...but guess what is missing? Web Counters? Yes? Annoying! They missed out web counters so you cannot add a web counter and then place it where ever you want on the page? i tried looking at help but that was no help so I tried doing the old HTML Way?
yes it kinda of worked but put the counter on the far left off the page....grrr
anyone else be able to get web counters working in XARA? I mean counters as in how many people have see or visited the page?

I'd use statcounter or something similiar. Just copy and paste the code for the counter into a placeholder on your page. If you do it right the counter should appear exactly where you put the placeholder.

I always found dreamweaver so much easier than this XARA website designer
this is just confusing. they have a drag and drop utility for you tube videos etc but
not one for a web page counter.... ? that aint good

They include some drag and drop widgets but with custom placeholders you're free to add any html/javascript code you want. Once you get used to adding placeholders with custom code it opens things up a lot.

Dreamweaver is different software allowing different things. Web Designer produces better looking pages, while Dreamweaver allows for easier integration of custom code. Note I say easier as Web Designer does allow it, you just need to know what you are doing more. :)
