Suggestions for improvements
I'm having fun playing this game.

Great work based on what I played so far. The classes are interesting and I like the orb system. This is a great improvement over just learning skills based on leveling. The many shortcuts to get back to the current level are also very nice. I like the minimal story approach and how we can just start playing without wasting time in a boring tutorial. Just a couple of extra options could help get more players like me to play through the game and hopefully recommend to friends.

The battle speed is too slow for this type of combat. You did well on the walking speed, but I don't think many people could play a classic RPG at Dragon Warrior 1 pace or slower as in this game's battle speed. It is like FF1 on NES if you put the delay to slowest text. Many games have the speed problem, but most can be solved with CE speed hack. Unfortunately, this doesn't work for this RPG maker. Please apply one of the plugins from the web to allow us to set the battle speed or have a fast forward button for it. Luckily, I was able to work around this problem that would have made me quit this game and never play it again by finding a 3rd party patch. It allows changing the game speed, so I have to speed it up to about 6x during combat and then back to 1/2x for the exploration depending on if the terrain tries to wastes my time by slowing down the walking speed. Everyone has limited play time and most have 100s or 1000s of games to choose from, so we want to get the most out of it. I always pass on buying RPG maker games since they typically are too slow/grindy and usually are not creative, but I got this one as a gift and it was recommended. Would love to see it be playable by people like me without an external patch.

Another issue is the music. This is not as important as the battle speed. You did better than most companies including Square by including more sound options, but there is obnoxious pattern that RPGs often use that ruins the music. This is to interrupt the music with repetitive battle music. If possible, add an option to not play the battle music (just let the map music play during common/trash battles) or to mute it. It is even worse that it boosts to louder than the other music and I didn't want to hear it ever again after the first battle. If it is not possible to mute or skip, using a track that is quiet and lower volume than the exploration music would still help. I'm not sure if this one is possible, but even muting it and not having any sound during battle would be an improvement. Otherwise, players that can't stand to hear that combat music again would need to mute the game completely and miss out on the other music, but the normal music is decent if not being interrupted. The music that plays after wining a battle was horrible since it was 10x as loud as the battle music. Luckily, one of the volume controls in the game will mute this when set to 0. Great job on allowing this option since I would have played my own music and left the game muted without this option.

I was able to fix the loud battle music by replacing the common battle musics with a silent track. Now the sound is all good.
