Hardcore Best Class/Build
Anyone will to offer knowledge/experience on what to run for hardcore?

I am trying out a mage, but the damage is REALLY lacking. I haven't selected yet any specific branch (charm, attack def.). No idea if mage is even viable for Hardcore.

Any tips are appreciated. ^_^

I'm late to this party but if your question still stands their is no 'best build' for HC mode because monster levels are crazy in this mode. In general you will be letting your pet do most the damage because it is immortal and you are not.

To that extent you will want to fish a lot. While you cannot keep up with monster levels (at first) you will want to grab any summon spell and give your pet a summon spell. The limit is 6 monsters total however your pet also has a seperate 6 summon total so you can reach 12 altogether.

Does that mean summoner is best? No, not exactly. Summoned monsters are baaaad. you are making them only to serve as a meaty distraction, not as a valid killing method.

Spells or archery or a spear if you must melee, will all give you sufficient range to attack and run, which you will be doing, a lot.

Let us know how you got on since you last posted asking for help.

Wow, thanks for the tips Madda! I had no idea you could give your pet a summon spell. (I know you could do this in Torchlight, but I didn't ever see it on here...). How do I get my pet to start summoning stuff? I dragged and dropped a summoning spell on the pet icon where you would feed him potions...I dont think that worked. Anyway, scratching off being a summoner is one route down not to take, which helps cause i wasn't sure the viablity of that in HC.

TY again, will post with an update at a later time.
