The game keeps on crashing after the intro - **UPDATED**

I've tried it five times now: I can enter the menu, create a character, but the game always crashes once the intro starts. Is there a solution to this problem? :)

I looked a bit into the game files (for the ini to change language) and noticed that after the first start, the game decompresses the files to C: and not the Steam directory where the game is installed (external drive in my case). Maybe after the intro the game requires some files but can not find them as they are not sitting in the install directory.
Tried to copy them over (everything to C: and also everything into the Steam installation folder) but did not work either.
Maybe devs or people having no problems can tell where they installed the game to see if this could be part of the problem.

Additional info:
For curiosity I tried to start the original Fate and it works flawlessly without any compatibility adjustments etc. Well, just ran around in town and checking some merchants etc, so no real long testing - but it seems to run fine.
Difference I noticed: Playing Fate I get the german audio and the german text for the intro and ingame. Playing Realms I got german screen text, but intro text is in english and no audio playing.

Checking the profiles from people having problems crashing after the intro I noticed that they do not run their OS in English (so far, I found German and Spanish players).
So I think that there could be a problem with the install for non english users. Steam store says that the game is only available in English, but files are there for several other languages and the game autodetects the OS setting.

Crashes at loadup after 3rd intro about half to 3/4ths the way, tried on all compatiblilities and in game video level. doesn't even load except on windows 8 for me.

wild tangent is this a revised version the old one mass marketed always hung or crashed under windows vista I loved the 1st couple but undiscovered realms came out the often crashes made me unload it

Try going to options changing the resulotion to the highest

Also the highest available screen resolution in the options is only 1366x768 which is strange as my desktop resolution and the capability of my grfacs card is much higher.

I've tried toying around with the compatibility settings - it changed nothing, unfortunately. Still waiting for a patch.

I suggest runnign the integrity cause with steam its possible some files might be missing here's what you do.
Right click Fate:Undiscovered Realms Drag down to properties
A tab will appear click on the local files tab The Select Verify Integrity of Game cache please give this a try hopefully it will fix the issue I'm gonna install the game and see the results.
Feel free to post back on what happens as my files were fine.

Yup my game crashed after I tried to encounter an evil Shrine Boss but was fine before that.

Same problem for me. Should i try to get my money back (If its possible) or will it be fixied? System: Windows 7 64 Professionale , 8 GB RAM, GForce GTX 460, CPU AMD something with 6 cores.
