ATLYSS
Do anybody here remember Earth Eternal?
I've seen a lot of folks asking for suggestions for games like ATLYSS, but here's one I never see mentioned, perhaps because it's too old, or perhaps because you can't easily play it anymore.

It was an MMORPG called Earth Eternal which prominently featured Anthropomorphic Animals as playable races. Unfortunately, the company that created the game went bankrupt, got bought out by a Japanese company, the game was radically altered by the new parent company to appeal more towards Japanese games which largely alienated the existing playerbase, and it was ultimately shutdown. Nowadays, the only ways to play this game is via servers run by fans of the game, and since the game cannot be purchased anymore there's no strictly legal means of obtaining a copy of it to begin with.

Anyway, since GOG is now hosting a means for fans to submit/vote for old games to be added to the service, I decided to see if anyone might have submitted it already, but unsurprisingly, nobody did, so I went ahead and submitted it.

I highly recommend that anyone who is a fan of ATLYSS takes a look into Earth Eternal and if the game interests you, then consider voting for it on GOG Dreamlist.

Oh, and if anybody else remembers this game, then speak up. I'd like to know I'm not the onlu old guy here who remembers an obscure old MMORPG.

Yes i played that game even sunk money into the cash system to upgrade vault space. All i remember doing was kill tasks on billboards and farming different types of gear for the looks. There was nothing past level 40ish, still people would grind levels expecting more content that never came. I remember some guy being like lv.53 as i think he really liked the game lol. I played a druid that promised to be a pet class but was a lie and ended up being an archer. I didn't group often with others but did so for a dungeon or two that ended up being not so good loot or exp. The game had hardly any quests outside kill tasks and people would save their quest for the end levels when you can't use kill tasks anymore. Mobs depending on your level dropped the same amount of exp every time which made it very tedious to level outside kill tasks. I still have the plushy of the mascot they sent me for buying a tier level cash shop purchase.
I'm glad that I'm not the only person who remembers the game. It really is a shame that the game wasn't more popular and died before it ever really went anywhere, but I suppose that it just came out at the wrong time and didn't get enough mainstream media attention to attract a playerbase that could sustain it.

ATLYSS really is the closest thing to it I've seen so far, and that's saying something considering there is a Chinese knockoff of the game that has somehow survived to this day.

Of course, that game has considerably less races to choose from and sort of undersells the fact that there are furry characters in the game, which might have something to do with it...

Either way, I'd like to see Earth Eternal revived, if only for the sake of preservation.
