But since you've found some success with it, I may give it the old college try.
I mostly just like, place one and dash through it vs fast mobs like Mincerooms or Maws, basically leading them into it and watch as it vaporizes them
Though this is on a maxed bandit in some fairness running max dex and Signet/Volley/Venom/Payday/Bomb/Spread Shot, so that could be allowing it to one shot alot more of grove than it it realistically would in actual lv 25 content.

I like bomb trap myself really, it's my other big skill next to Volley I cycle between when clearing waves.
But I do zip around alot myself to, I just kinda lead mobs into Volley via my own movements. Either placing it behind me and dashing away from the mob so a fast mob just winds up eating or of it's a monolith whose easier to hit it with I'll place it on top of them and dash into them to stop their movement while crossing them up to keep them in place for it. (And on Colosuss it's just free damage)
I really can't stay still much on 1 vit tactics in general, though I also use "Hold strafe" to make some of this work
they get pretty good stamina so can do charged attacks too just like warrior. And back before the nerf to collusus bell, they were the best user of that bell thanks to crits (mages usually didnt use their weapon much as fluxbolt and divine was what they did).
out of combat they have the best mobility in the game thanks to triple jump, the best dash in the game and that hop isnt bad either. They have the single best single hit in the game aka bomb trap which any version of bandit can use, double defense down which stacks (though you'll have to weapon swap a lot), overall they output great damage with weapons that fighter and mystic would be using sometimes even more then fighter (Though fighter has its perks as well aka best parry in the game and reflect and highest defense)
bandit is also decently safe thanks to with their team buff, even without leg up has about 25-30% dodge chance at lv25, enemies will just whiff them 1/3 of the time. Fighter and mystic cannot do that (fighters depend on their superior parry), mystic cannot take hits well but has divine (which is ridiclous) and the shortest heal cd in the game but cannot take hits well.

Anyway, judging by the achievements bandit is being picked much less often than two other classes. So, while it's debatable whether bandit is actually objectively weaker than them or not, what's obvious is that he is definitely percieved as being weaker by the large portion of the playerbase for some reason. Though it's possible that it's solely based on their assumption what the play style will be when picking a class. I doubt the majority of players go out of their way to learn about the skills of each class before picking it for their first character.
