ATLYSS
Similar Game Suggestions?
Up until recently I've only really enjoyed craft survivals or sims. I'm very interested in games like Diablo now, though never trying any; however the combat for Atlyss is so damn smooth and fun that I can't help but hope there are other hack and slashers this smooth with a more Diablo feel to loot and classes!
(Please don't correct me if you don't think this is a diablo like or hack and slasher i just wanna gamer man :steamsad: )

I'd say the gameplay (3rd person action RPG) is similar to Hellgate: London and Cube World. The latter also bears similarity to the animal bipedal characters we can play as.

Both these games are available on Steam, but both have (imho superior) versions found only elsewhere.

Games like "diablo":

- Diablo 4 (duh)
- Torchlight 1+2 (2 is the better opinion though, 3 issssssss not good...)
- Grim dawn (one of the best ARPGs out there tbh)
- Titan quest
- Victor Vran (a gem, rare, people forgotten about this one, is also more action/combo based)
- Spiral Knights (Its free but old. more MMO-ish but bas a Hack n slash active fight system)
- warhammer 40k inquisitor/ Martyr (more action and stuff)

Actual "more like Atlyss"-diablo-ish games
- Gothic 1+2 (at least from the feeling, not from the fight)
- Warframe...? (maybe Movement-wise... Its more of a 3rd person shooter though with melee combat too)
- Pseudoregalia maybe
- Phantasy Star Online Blue Burst (BB is not on steam though, 2 is - N O T PSO2 NG! ONLY the PSO2 classic contest maybe)
- Children of Morta (More rogue like)

More "intense fights with only SLIGHT RPG elements" games
- Monster Hunter World
- Devil May Cry Classic Collection (meh, maybe)
- Dark Souls (oh boy!)

Looter Shooter aka "shooters with slight RPG elements" (Rogue likes inc.)
- Borderland series (would start with 1 though)
- Gunfire reborn (rogue like!)
- Risk of rain 2
- Synthetik 1+2 (more of an action twinstick shooter but has RPG elements)
- Rogue (well...DUH)

any more? i have 900+ games on steam so...

While tastes of course vary, i am personally very fond of its Alpha version (not available on steam), which featured proper a-rpg progression, unlike the steam version which introduced the "region lock" system.

FYI, there is a new version currently in the making, called Omega (a nod to the old Alpha version), that will return the game to its original rpg roots, with proper progression once more.

I believe the original poster made it clear that he is more interested in games with similar gameplay, irrespective of their genre. More specifically, 3D 3rd-person-perspective RPGs with WASD movement and mouse-look, rather than the usual top-down/isometric mouse-driven diabloclones.

Just play Veloren, it's a FOSS Cube World-like that's actually good and constantly updated.

Have a look at phantasy star series (you can play blueburst trough the ephinea fan server) , mayby white knight chronicles (i recomend the psp one, if you want the normal one try using a ps3 emulator whit white knight chronicles 2 as it has also 1 in it and don't look at the playebility it is fully playebel), or anything from the same genre developed by level 5, like rogue galaxy (both of these are more material hunters).

But honestly phantasy star online (BB) or classic pso2 or hell even pso universe (apparantly has a fan server???) are probably my most reccomended ones

Other then pso2 none of these are on steam. Also little bit extra info here: somebody made the first stage of the forest of pso BB in vr whit parry mechanics in vr chat.

Also have a look at Final fantasy strangers of paradise, it is more souls like but honestly very looter like, you might enjoy this and once you have done some of the void stuff or whatever it is called you can learn cool stuff like sephiroth's masamune attacks like octoslash or the one he used to kill aertih.

it's more so that I don't want people correcting me, I know that I probably got the genres off and I just don't care I just want more games to play. what they did was just fine as they were just narrowing down the genre those games fit in. I actually really like this post! :D

which post? the list? the answer to it?
DysDaemoN Jan 27 @ 12:24pm
You didn't get the genres wrong, if there's xp bars and skills and loot and plays in real-time, then it's most probably an action-rpg (a.k.a. a-rpg, diablo-clone, hack&slash etc), a very broad genre blessed with many unique iterations over the ~30 years since the original Diablo.

As for the quoted post, i had wrongly assumed it was the type of post you did not want, after reading your somewhat dismissive reply to the first poster. My bad, im glad you found it useful and hope its poster did not take offense from my comment.
