Character stuck on loading

I was playing the game, my inventory somehow got completely filled with the exact same magical mekboar bow, I was kicked out of singleplayer and two character slots have just been stuck on saying they're loading and for some reason a character from my Partner's steam account is in the third slot.
My partner played the game just fine on my laptop on her Steam account just a few hours ago

Ok so my gf fiddled around and pulled files from the steam cloud and recovered my data. From my perspective it seems that data is saved locally without taking into account steam user data, and as such her data was loaded from the steam cloud over the top of my save data. (as well as her bandit alt showing up)
