I can't join multiplayer

I'm running the game vanilla but when I join a public room it says connected and then disconnects me? is it my wifi or the game?

Was it the same lobby each time, or multiple different lobbies? If it was the same one each time, it might be something to do with their lobby at that moment. A different lobby might work. If it was different lobbies each time, it might be something on your end. Restarting Atlyss might work. I'm not an expert, but those have worked for me in the past with similar issues. Hope either of those work for you.

all the lobbies that were available did the same thing I even restarted my game and it would still disconnect each time

try verifying integrity of game files ig, or maybe your firewall is blocking it
