Game good.

The character creator is pretty darn good and games that let you play as custom anthropomorphic animals are *VERY* rare. Game is very zippy with great movement (double jump air-dash! Lock on! Double jump air-dash circle strafe!), affordable, and can be played with friends.

1. Cute art style/fur bait (Character creator it pretty decent)
2. Actually a decent game with potential.

It's not a mind blowing game, but it has a ton of potential. I think a lot of people are excited to see where it goes.

As a non-furry this is a rather harmless indie ARPG. I bought it thinking it would be a combat/platformer like Psuedoregalia but it isn't, and honestly that's okay (though I'm still holding out hope that one day we'll get Psuedoregalia style schmovement in an RPG style game)

This is just a cozy little RPG you can play with friends, if they're willing to let anthropomorphic animals slide anyways. I'm sure with time this will end up as a delightful little experience, add a little house customization here, maybe some chill side progression to give some stuff to do outside of the grind.

With the growing popularity for cozy games (just look at how good Catfishing is doing) it makes sense that people are excited for the future here.

As for what I think, it'll get there, and for the price tag I'm happy to let it sit in my library while I wait after completing most everything on my first character. And, hey. If you haven't played Psuedoregalia, it's a heck of a platformer. Very different game, but S++ imo. Too many people dismiss games for being "furry bait" when they're actually just good games. This is one of them.

The game marries combat and platforming together perfectly. You feel like you have complete control over everything you fight and when everything falls into place with blocking and parrying you feel like a speeding bullet. The variety of gear is both familiar but also new, the Bell specifically is NEAT because I've not seen another game with a weapon like it.

Did you like playing 3D online games from the 00s? Is it hard to return to them with their clunky combat?
Are you fatigued by the current state of online action RPGs and MMOs? Want something simpler? No dailies, battle passes, etc?
Well, here you go. It's a small online action RPG with gear and classes and leveling with surprisingly snappy movement without BS monetization.

The 'hype' is from this game coming out at just the right time to hit its nostalgia window... And being well executed... And eminently shareable thanks to the furry/boob/belly/butt characters. For horny furries, it's like, "Finally!" (especially with how few recent online games have good beast races). For non-furries, it's like, "Okay, haha, I'll try out the pervy furry game... Wait, it's actually pretty fun."

It hits multiple clear demographics hard, it's viral (in a niche online way), and it's fun.

If you take away the furry characters, you still have a game that takes inspiration from MMOs and Dark Souls gameplay loops, but makes both of them more tight and responsive than either of those genres ever have. It has some flaws, certainly, but for a solo developer, this is fantastic for the first days of the beta, and it's doing things different from the games that clearly inspired it in a way that feels fresh and fun.

The fact that the character creator allows you to be as chaste or degenerate as you wish, with a *surprising* amount of character design variety packed into just 5 species options, is the banana on top of the split.
