For games like this, I absolutely cannot play in WASD, especially when there are platforming aspects to this game that are outrageously frustrating on KB+M (I don't know how some people do it. But I definitely cannot.)
As an aside, for my hotkey'd skills, I can only use 4 of the 6 at current, because only the direction buttons are mapped, any attempt to make inputs results in, quite frankly, weird inputs? (i.e. You have M1 (Left Click), M2 (Right Click) and M3 (Middle Click) but certain buttons on the controller are linked to each other somehow?).
Like, somehow M1 = Is Right Trigger, OK cool that's reasonable, but if I want to use my R3 (Right Analog Stick Button), it's ALSO M1... Right Shoulder Button is M1 as well, but before you unmap them, Left and Right Shoulder buttons are Zoom in and Zoom out, but can't be mapped in any other way... and so I'm a bit at a loss, other than trying to find funky ways to use the rest of my hotkeys while having to use WASD (8 Directional), but Xbox and Playstation controller setups are not usable in any fashion without an explanation. :T
I'm being forced to unmap other keys, and then I have to Restore Defaults in order to figure out what got unmapped...
It's not perfect but I did get a realatively working controller setup, you gotta enable steam inputs though and then mid game find and load a controller setup you like. I for one found one that let's me hold down the LB/L1 button and then the face buttons to access my skills in addition to all the other stuff
Launch Atlyss, and once you're in the title screen, use your mouse to go to 'Settings', and then the 'Input' tab
'Analog Stick Axis Type' should be changed to 'Xbox' or 'Playstation 4', depending on which controller you are using
'Axis Sensitivity' will be slower or faster depending on the framerate of your game, so be sure to mess with the slider to your liking
Hit 'Apply', and do what ya do to start the game, hopefully by then it should be working, but if not, relaunch the game and try again
Once it works, head back to Steam and go to the game's 'Properties'
Within that tab, head back to 'Controller' and change the 'Disable Steam Input' setting, to 'Use default settings'
Use the 'Controller Configurator' and select 'Current Button Layout'
I recommend using 'Eevee's Hybrid Xbox Gamepad Layout' as it is intuitive, and mentions that it respects the game's own analog setting
In 'Quick Settings by Action Set', ya will see 'Invert Right Joystick Y-Axis' in the 'Default' tab, and if that's toggled off, toggle it back on if you're not used to inverted camera controls, and check the 'Default: Attack Camera Slowdown(better aim)' tab to toggle on the same setting
Also be sure to change the 'Default: Move Mouse' tab slider from '70%' to '1000%' or somewhere close to your liking
If you'd like, you can change the Joystick settings to your liking, but I'd advise to not edit anything labeled as 'Joystick (Inherited)'
There will be occasions when ya won't be able to move again, so in any case, close the game, 'Disable Steam Input', launch the game, ya will be able to move again, then re-enable Steam Input by 'Use default settings'
Once all is done, ya should be good to go! If anything, lemme know and I'll try to get back to ya as soon as I can! Yer welcome! :3
You're incredibly helpful and that was something I was thinking about doing but never got around to it. I was backtracking my steps and I remembered the controller setup was working because all this time, steam input was off all this time by default!
So when I had it on when launching the game, the steam controller configs I created for this game no longer worked properly because the xbox axis input setting wasn't working while steam input was enabled upon launch!
