What's with Attack Power vs Dex Power?
Should Attack Power be Strength Power now, since weapons are no longer class or stat locked?

Like, if I'm using katars, they say they're dex, but are they scaling off Attack Power (which sounds like generic melee attack power and *was* generic melee attack power in the demo) which is given by Strength, or Dex Power which is given by Dexterity?

Can Bandits safely just dump dex for their main stat, or do you have to increase Strength proportionally for your melee damage to keep up?

I'm just kind of confused as to how this all works now.

Katars scale off of dex for damage by default. You can make them scale off of mind or strength via rare dungeon drops.

Anything dex scaling will scale off of Dex Power now, including katars. There's still some tool tips that aren't updated, like Bomb Trap still references Range Power but it's definitely using Dex Power so it's a little confusing.

There's also been stat changes to watch out for. Str gives stamina now and not defense while dex lost its stamina component.

Yeah but like, what I mean is, Strength says it increases "Attack Power," which just sounds as if it's generic attack power that would be provided to everything (or at least melee).

Should it actually read more like "Strength Power"? Like, as in, is "Attack Power" the scaling factor for Strength weapons, or all weapons?

The wording can be a bit confusing, but "attack power" only applies to weapons that, by default, say they use strength.

those being swords/ maces, things you can combine with shields, classified as melee, greatswords/hammers, your two handed melee with the slam charge attack, classified as heavy melee, and your pointy long things which I can't think of the name of right now. Halberd, spears, the like.

Katars are purely off dexterity, and strength does not do anything to them, by default, even though they could be called a "melee weapon".

At least, that's how I understand it.

Yeah that's correct, it should probably be called Strength Power now.

Edit: Tbh it does feel inconsistent now, like they should all just be tailored after the stats like Mind Power instead of Magic Power and same for Strength Power.
