I'm not understanding how to fight Colossus.
Full disclosure, this could just be a mechanic flying over my head or a massive skill issue, but I wanted to post this just to check if this is a shared sentiment of any kind or if someone has the answer.

Colossus seems like a really interesting boss, there's just things about the design that are confusing me, and I've been unable to kill him. A friend of mine's been able to with Bandit and a lot of healing, but when me, him and another friend fought it as a group we couldn't pull it off. And I especially can't seem to take him on solo. It's mainly the shockwave attack that he seems to chain together on lower health thresholds. I just don't know what the answer to it is, especially as the Fighter class.

If anyone's got a good idea on how to deal with the shockwave, or if I'm genuinely just missing something and/or bad at the game, please let me know and thank you.

Hold block, you can block all three shockwaves

It's all about dat block! I found him actually more easy then the ghost boss of the other dungeons since his attacks are generally easy to read. I only had to chug 1 or 2 potions to heal once his adds showed up.

I've noticed it is possible to parry it, the rocks just seem to prick my defense either right after or before and it shreds the shield. Not ideal for when he just does more on the lower health thresholds.

Weird. I feel like I'm having the opposite problem, both versions of the Catacombs boss aren't that hard for me to deal with but Colossus has been an absolute pain.

I think this is what's making people have more trouble in this game defensively than they should, they're going only dodge or parry, completely disregarding BLOCK. Fighter with a ton of strength can block for days, and bandit can give everyone more stamina with its buff to block with.
how am i supposed to block the shockwave if it shatters my block

no no no, don't try to parry it. BLOCK it. and just keep it held and don't back peddle go left or right, the spikes go in straight lines.

I don't know how it's shattering your block, I have NO strength investment and I can block it just fine.

That's the problem. Anytime it procs the Block, it drops my Stamina to 0 in one clean hit, leaving me with no response for the second one outside of Stamstars (which also don't hold up when he adds a 3rd shockwave to the attack)

You need to stay close to the boss so the rock spire followups don't combo you. You should only be parrying/blocking one attack. When he starts doing it consecutively your stamina should regen in time between if you time your blocks. I'm playing Fighter currently and I can parry the attacks as long as I'm upclose cause the spires can only be blocked and that eats your stamina.

I... don't understand how that's happening for you guys? are you underleveled? as I said I have 1 point in strength and I am not sweating blocking the shockwave spam at all, how are you as a fighter getting shattered after 1?

I'm already in close-quarters with him as a Fighter Class, and there's no way for me to block the rest when he keeps shredding my stamina in one hit somehow.

Level 19 as of the time of writing this. If there's a mechanic I blanked out on that flew over my head regarding being lesser level than an enemy, then oops.
i have 53 stamina and it's not enough for me to tank the shockwave
