Question about the demo

hello I downloaded the atlyss demo from itch.io
when the game is available on steam my version of the game will still be a demo
and if so and I redownload it from steam, would I keep my backup ?

You can transfer your character data from the demo to steam. Save files are saved locally within the ATLYSS_Data folder, then Profilecollections.

I dragged and dropped the profile files from my demo file folders into the Steam folder (see below for filepath), but Steam doesn't seem to recognize they exist (starting the game results in no characters displaying when selecting "Single Player" mode).

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ATLYSS\ATLYSS_Data\profileCollections"

Just drag ATLYSS_Data from the demo into the steam version of ATLYSS and you should be good.

This post is from before the public Early Access version was available, and the advice is only applicable to the private version. The Current version of the game uses different save structures. This is covered in one of the pinned posts.
